TIME TO CHANGE THE CONVERSATION ON MENTAL HEALTH
1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem every year.
Yet most 12-18 year olds don’t even know where to access support.
The Man The Myth The Maccas
Tom or Maccas as he was widely known was a typical young man, but in 2011 he was diagnosed with psychosis and had been struggling to come to terms with this finding escape in music and creative arts, yet everyday was a battle.
In August 2012 at 19 years old Tom took his own life.
why are we doing this?
It’s hard to talk about mental health. What will people think? What label will you be given? Will anyone really be able to help?
At the Maccas Project we offer support to those people who often suffer in silence. Our team are here to welcome the conversation on mental health, making a real difference to someone wanting to reach out.
All the monies raised are used soley on the Maccas Project itself, to keep our project running and to give young people a life line.
